I’m a singer songwriter and actress born in Boston, USA of Chilean parents. I moved to Chile when I was 6 months and grew up there. I started playing classical piano when I was 7. My family is very musical, so music was always around me.

I began writing my songs when I was 12. I’ve always written. I have diaries and notebooks full of scribbles and poems everywhere, so when I reached puberty, I started to turn them into songs.

At 14 I won a modeling contest and traveled to Nice for a competition where I played and sang a Shakira song. With my career snowballing, I kept working hard modeling, performing in private events in Santiago, Chile and always writing.

In 2005 I went to a casting and I was cast as the leading lady “Kim” in the first martial arts movie made in Latin American called “Kiltro”.

After that, I came to study performing arts at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in NY and have been here since.

In 2012 I teamed up with Argentinean singer songwriter Paco Naveira and started performing in several NY venues showing my songs for the first time.

In 2014, I began my journey as a solo artist under the name Caterina J. I’ve performed in several NY venues such as Nublu, The Bowery Electric, The Bitter End, Subrosa and Rockwood Music Hall.

In April 2016, I released my debut album called “I Confess” combining jazz, rock, blues and pop elements. It was a process of two years, collaborating with talented NY based musicians. It’s now available on Apple Music, Google Play and other digital platforms.
